How we handle your information.
This page explains, in plain terms, what personal information this website collects, why, who can see it, and the rights you have over it — wherever in the world you're visiting from.
Last updated: 29 August 2026
APAC 2 IMPACT (“we”, “us”) operates this website and the Pacific 100 initiative for the Asia-Pacific region, including government, technology, investment and community stakeholders worldwide. This policy is written to meet commonly recognised international data-protection standards — including the disclosure principles behind the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comparable Asia-Pacific personal data protection laws — so that it applies fairly whether you're reading it from Palau, elsewhere in the Pacific, Taiwan, or anywhere else.
Who is responsible for your information
APAC 2 IMPACT is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and the Pacific 100 initiative.
For any question, request or concern about your personal information, contact us at pacific100@apac2impact.com. We aim to respond within 72 hours, in line with our general response commitment across the site.
What information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us when you submit one of the forms on this website (for example, the government, technology, investor, expert, partner or public-voice forms on the Pacific 100 event page). Depending on which form you use, this may include:
- Contact details — your name, organisation, email address and country
- The content of your submission — the priority, technology, sector, expertise or message you describe in your own words
- Your selections — which life-system categories, capital type or areas of expertise you tick or choose
- Optional preferences — for example, whether you're willing to have your “voice” sentence read aloud at a session
Fields marked required are needed for us to act on your submission; everything else is optional and left entirely up to you. We do not ask for sensitive categories of data (such as health, religion or political opinion), and you should not include them in free-text fields.
Why we collect it
We use the information you submit to:
- Respond to you personally, generally within 72 hours, and route your submission to the right team
- Arrange the appropriate follow-up — a questionnaire, a booking link, or a consultation — based on your role
- Coordinate Pacific 100 event operations, including the published agenda where relevant
- Track aggregate, anonymised participation totals on the public live board
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to any third party.
The public Pacific 100 board
The live board and any public display of participation figures shows numbers only — counts of submissions per category. It never shows your name, organisation, email address or the words you wrote. If you opt in to have your “voice” sentence read aloud at a session, only that sentence is shared aloud — never your name.
Who we share it with
Your submission is stored in a Google Sheet and processed through Gmail, both operated under APAC 2 IMPACT's Google Workspace account, and is accessed only by the APAC 2 IMPACT team members responsible for following up with you.
We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to unrelated third parties. Because we rely on Google Workspace as our processor, your information may be processed or stored on infrastructure located outside your home country, including in the United States; Google processes this data under its own data-processing terms and safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as necessary to respond to your submission and coordinate the relevant Pacific 100 activity, and no longer than needed for that purpose. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see “Your rights” below.
Your rights
Wherever you're submitting from, you can ask us at any time to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your information
- Withdraw consent, or object to a particular use of your information
To exercise any of these rights, email pacific100@apac2impact.com. If you are in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with its own data-protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and which links are clicked. This is aggregated, anonymised usage data; it is not used to identify you personally, and we do not use it for advertising or remarketing. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this and may process this data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out using your browser's cookie settings or tools like the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We rely on Google Workspace's security infrastructure and restrict access to submitted information to the team members who need it to respond to you. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site or our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be reflected here — please check back periodically.
